Ha! Looking back I guess I never did just come out and say it, but I did enjoy the rodeo. You can’t miss the smell of manure and the whole experience made me want to jump on a horse or try out a cowboy hat. I’m definitely writing down your pickle recipe.

You’re right on the money because after consulting with the tasters a good number of them are used to eating sugar-free products. Taste is so objective. Vodka? No! But interesting…gives me another reason to buy it, other than for vodka cream pasta.

To be fair, some of my friends have to use alternative sugar substitutes for health reasons…but a surprising number of people have grown accustom to the taste! The store bought pie was a sugar-free version from Fresh Market. I’ve been making my pie for years now and do love the crust.

Considering that Brian Cartenuto isn’t at Char anymore, I’m surprised the menu is still pared down. If you keep trying, request one of your favorite dishes that was previously on the menu because I’m sure they would value your loyal patronage.

Maybe the problem wasn’t with the pie, but with the testers. People get conditioned to think whatever they are most familiar with is the best. You could have thrown a couple of McDonald’s apple pies into the mix.
Do you use vodka in the crust? It makes it flakier.
