To keep up with an ever expanding lists of cool blogs, I rely on Google Reader. Once subscribed to a website’s RSS feed, each freshly published post automatically appears in my feed reader. Although I have many interests, here is a sampling of food and recipe blogs I regularly read.
While we’re on the topic, Gidget Eats has an RSS feed too! Subscribe now. Confused?, read An Explanation of RSS Feeds.
1. Amateur Gourmet
This is one of the first food blogs I started following religiously. Adam, the Amateur Gourmet, began his blog in law school and now is a full-time food writer. He is hilarious, likes to cook and just moved to California from New York.
2. Bakin’ and Eggs
During my healthy living blog obsession I stumbled upon Jen at the Peanut Butter Runner and became envious of her Lululemon wardrobe and yoga skills. To compliment her healthy lifestyle, this is her companion site where she posts recipes.
3. Budget Bites
The type-A side of me went wild for a food blog that breaks down recipes by total recipe cost, cost per serving and step-by-step photo illustration. She makes her own naan for heaven’s sake!
4. The Disney Food Blog
In preparation for our trip to Disney World, I spent an extensive amount of time perusing information about snacks, meal plans, restaurants and tips, mostly on this website. I couldn’t wait to get a Butterfinger cupcake! Read a recap of my Disney World posts.
5. Homesick Texan
I could easily identify with a fellow expat in a foreign state, and her stories come with great Tex-Mex recipes.
6. Joy the Baker
As much as I like to cook, I like to bake even more so. Check out her recipe list for inspiration and come away needing to satisfy your sweet tooth.
7. Peas and Thank You
I eat meat. I eat dairy. Mama Pea charges people to be more conscious about what they eat and has me considering creating more vegetarian meals. She just wrote a cookbook, has an adorable family and I’m extremely curious to try that Mmmm Sauce.
8. The Pioneer Woman
What does this woman not do? Ree chronicles her life journey, family, photography, ranch, homeschooling four kids, recipes and everything else you can think of on her website. She has two cookbooks and a new Food Network show. Her enchiladas are fab.
9. Serious Eats
My favorite news, reviews, recipes, stories and entertainment food website is Serious Eats. They provide a wealth of food-centered knowledge, in addition to a community environment. I dare you to go there and not find an article that catches your eye.
10. Simply Recipes
When I’m in a meal rut, I often click to this site and browse the categories. Elise’s recipes are simple, (hence the name) and usually just what I’m looking for.
What are some of your favorite food and recipe blogs?

Thank you for the shout out! I promise that I’ll actually be posting more recipes on Bakin’ and Eggs (3-4 a week!) in the coming month!
