Upon completion of my first half marathon I was award one of these rockin’ medals. One half marathon down baby!
We drove down to New Orleans on a Friday night and the race was held Sunday morning. Out of our group of four I was the only person running. It’s a surprise I could propel my body forward for 13.1 miles with the massive amount of eating that went on.
I achieved my personal goals which is a mystery considering what I consumed. Good-bye smart pre-race fueling. I don’t recommend this meal plan, this is why:
For starters…
dessert…
my only drink…
beginning the next day with…
going all out on…
extreme carbo loading…
(I said I went all out)
with a cherry on top.

Haha, awesomeness! I really want a roast beef po-boy the next time I go to New Orleans. Would you recommed the po-boy from Johnny’s?

If you are in the FQ, Johnny’s is centrally located, fairly inexpensive and good. If you are near Magazine please go to Tracey’s (used to be Parasol’s in a roundabout way), they have the best roast beef po-boy I’ve ever had! More info on that…http://www.cynicalcook.com/2011/02/traceys-new-orleans.html
