My torrid love affair with New Orleans continues.
We just returned from the Crescent City (yes, again) where I completed the Rock ‘n’ Roll Mardi Gras half marathon. I’m happy I ran the entire 13.1 mile distance, crossed the finish line and didn’t crumple like a dry autumn leaf on the streets of the French Quarter.
I wish I had a better photo to post as evidence, but have yet to acquired any from my only friend who had a camera. Trust me, when I do you’ll get to read all about it.
New Orleans half marathon weekend eats
In preparation for, and celebration of the race, a lot of good eating went on. One of my best friends and her boyfriend were also in town, this is where we ate:
I didn’t have my camera at Juan’s Flying Burrito after the race and left it in the car at Broma’s Deli on the way home. It’s a shame because both restaurants have great food, hopefully we’ll go back sometime.
Any posts related to this trip won’t be written for awhile. I’ve been to a slew of restaurants, but when life gets busy the blog gets pushed to the bottom of the list.
Cheap Valentine’s Day plans
One year later and my feelings toward Valentine’s Day remain the same. Tonight we are going to make homemade pizza, watch a movie, maybe ice my sore muscles and rest after another long weekend.
Still loving Disney World
p.s. A big thanks goes to AJ at the Disney Food Blog for including a link to Gidget Eats Does Disney World in his latest round-up. The magic lives on.
